Fresh From the Garden

Three of my potted plants, when they were just wee little sprouts

This is the first year I've grown any kind of garden, and I am enjoying it very much!
I just ate my first (so-far only) green pepper, which was delicious. I've begun using the basil and mint also, but I'm hoping the chives will grow more before I pick any.

The first time I used the basil, I simply tossed a handful of leaves in a saucepan with olive oil, tomato, and some italian seasonings. I used the mixture to top some grilled chicken, along with a little parmesian cheese. The same mixture would be really great on a grilled cheese, too.

Photo not mine, but pretty much what I did.

I've been experimenting a little bit with infused water, which has endless possibilities. It seems like a lot of people mix strawberries and basil, but I haven't tried that yet. Pretty much any combination of fruit, herbs, and cucumbers goes!

May it please the supreme and divine Goodness to give us all abundant grace
ever to know His most holy will and perfectly to fulfill it.
