A Touch of Yellow

Now, I may be all alone here, but then again maybe I'm not.

Don't you get a little curious when you see something like this out the window, when you look up from a dry textbook?

I've never seen such a thing before.

And then you catch a glimpse of this in another branch.

and you really get excited, wondering what they could be.

You hope they'll move to where you can see them better, and snap a picture so you don't forget what they're like.

But then, they don't have to move, because there are plenty of others.

Love the small, bright accents. Notice their scarlet wingtips.

There were about ten of these Cedar Waxwings in our trees the other morning.

They sampled our 'pears', but mostly sat perfectly still in very unphotographic spots.

Nevertheless, some were obliging enough to let me get these.

I don't know why this one is so much brighter. The males and females supposedly look very similar. Beautiful, though.

It's been very quiet around here lately :( I've had two exams this week, and two more coming up fast. From what I can tell, Tuesday's is going to be a mean one, so if you have any prayers to spare, many thanks.

With my head burried in books or at work, I haven't been sewing much, but I have been very good, not buying any fabric at all! I hope the whole semester isn't going to be this stressed :(

Which maybe helps you to understand why a few brightly colored birds by my open window can do so much to cheer me up.

Birwatching: My secret hobby you never would have guessed.
hi, to those of you who read this.
